In this first episode Brian explores the powerhouse of them all, the sun. In India he witnesses a total solar eclipse - when the link to the light and heat that sustains us is cut off for a few precious minutes. But heat and light are not the only power of the sun over the solar system. In Norway, Brian watches the battle between the sun's wind and earth, as the night sky glows with the northern lights. Beyond earth, the solar wind continues, creating dazzling aurora on other planets. Brian makes contact with Voyager, a probe that has been travelling since its launch 30 years ago. Now 14 billion kilometres away, Voyager has just detected the solar wind is beginning to peter out. But even here we haven't reached the end of the sun's rule. 施晓波 说：给我印象最深的一段是第2集中，教授主持人说他小时候写信给美国宇航局，向他们索要海盗号火星探测器拍下的火星地表照片，宇航局就寄给他了，教授说这段话的时候是很平淡地一笔带过，但我当时立即点了暂停，顿了几秒钟，倒回去重看一遍，然后眼眶就湿润了……
瓦达西瓦又又又桑只爱这巧克力 说：为毛欧美纪录片都这么深入浅出，科学家讲的话能让普通观众明白他们想要表达的内容。而我们的纪录片刚好相反，必须复杂化抽象化数据化。出镜的科学家也都非常有魅力，相比我们的老学究，唉。ps，配乐很好听啊！第五集最后居然用了thexx。。给bbc跪下了。。
quasix 说：Brain Cox，粒子物理学家，英国皇家科学研究员，曼彻斯特大学教授，九十年代英国摇滚乐队D:REAM键盘手。这部纪录片他身兼撰稿和主持双职，配乐太美，旁白写得太美，他边用雨伞戳着地面边略带羞涩地说着“That is Why I like Physics”，我已经完全沦陷了。
