Lives。ItIsNottheHomosexualWhoIsPerverse,ButtheSocietyinWhichHeLives(NichtderHomosexuelleistpervers,sonderndieSituation,indererlebt)istheearnesttitleofRosavonPraunheim’s1971PG-chastefirstfeature,whichhasagedlikegoodcheesefromascandaloussensation(apoliticalwakeupcalltogays)intoatextbookexampleofclassiccamp—andadelightfultimewarptripthroughqueercliché.Theverycolorfulcolorfilm(shotMOS)openswithvonPraunheim’scameratrailingtwofags—oneblonde,onebrunette—walkingdownasunnyBerlinstreet.Daniel,theshybrunette,isnewtothebigcityandblondeClemensisgenerouslyofferinghimaplacetostay.(WeknowthisbytheheavilyGerman-accentedEnglish,dubbedandspokenina“Sprockets”cadence.)“It’ssohardtofindsomeonewho’ssincere,”Clemens’voicesaysastheycuddleonhisbedbackattheapartment.“Ireallydigyou.”Then,fromoutofnowhere,agrave,German-accented,Moses-likevoiceoverexplainsthat“faggotslongforlovingrelationships”,but“liveinadreamworldofglossymagazinesandHollywoodmovies.”NownakedinbedwithDaniel,Clemensproclaims,“I’dliketothrowthewindowopenandshowthewholeworldhowwonderfulitiswhentwomenareinlove!”Andsoitgoes.DanielfussesoverhishairinthemirrorwhileClemens’heartsickTeutonicvoicenarratestheirnewfounddomesticbliss.“EveryhourandminuteIspentalonewastortureforme.”Luckily,thelovebirdsspendplentyoftimedoingthingslike“watchingtelevisiontofurtheroureducation”andhousecleaningtogether.Theyalsoreadorwriteletters.“DearMother,”Daniel’svoicebegins.Butalas,asClemensstaresintoacabinetchockfullofknickknacks,thatdamnnaggingMosesvoiceoverreturns.“Faggotstrytoimitatemiddleclassmarriage,”hehisses,holdingforthonthesubjectofmentaughttobeincompetitionwithoneanother,tobeself-involved—doomingthefaggotrelationship.Nextthingyouknow,Daniel’ssadvoicesighs,“Fourmonthshavepassed.I’vedecidedtoleaveClemens.”Thenajaunty,genialGermannarratorintones,“Danielwasoftencruisedbyawell-to-doman.”Andthere’sgirlfriendstrollingalongwiththetight-panted“benefactorathiscountryestate!”Astheystopforaglassofchampagnebesideastatue,Mosesabruptlythundersaboutthemyththatthehomosexual’s“interestintheartsisawaytomakelifemorebearable,”wheninreality“theartsareatoolfortherichandpowerful,”foritmakesit“mucheasiertogetthemintobed.”Cuttoapianoandawild-eyedfagsingingaboutDeutschland!Nearby,thebenefactorplayswithhisascot,agaudysilverringintheshapeofaninsectonhisfinger.Thecamerapullsbackandpansaroundtheroomfulofoldqueensrespectfullylisteningtotherecital.Mosesannounces,“Youthandgoodlooksaretremendouslyimportanttooldfags.”LikeHitchcock’sbirds,theelderlyMarysaresuddenlyswarmingoverpoorDaniel—whogetsnauseousandrunsoutthedoor.Thenit’sofftoanoutdoorcafé—withabigsignreading“MobyDick’s.”ThegenialGermannarratorinformsthatDaniel’sfoundanewjobworkingata“meetingplaceforhomosexuals”where“conversationsaboutfilm,fashionandphysicalculturegivehimideasabouthowtofillhisleisuretime.”Mosesbuttsintoaddthatfaggots“gathertolistentoNinaSimone,JudyGarlandandBarbraStreisand”and“gatheratFireIslandandSanFrancisco.”Heintones,“Fashionhastobelikeasecondskinthatsuggeststhesizeofthecock.”Asissysauntersdownthestreetinknee-highmoccasinsandshorts.Mosesalsowarns,“Theyoungfagmustgiveuphisinterestsformorehomosexualinterests.”Andthere’sDanielsunninghimselfwithhisfellowhomosexuals!Mosessnipes,“Hewasentrancedbyhisstrongbodyandbutchstyle”asatorso,hairychestandtightbluejeans,appearsinmediumcloseup.ThegenialGermanoffers,“Danielcouldsitforhoursandenjoybeingcruised.”Then:“WolfganghadalotincommonwithDaniel”asthetwomop-haired,mutton-choppedboysrublotionononeanother.Butallisnotwellinfairyland.MosesbringsnewsthatDanielhasbegungoingtogaybars—isbecomingaddicted!And,yup,there’sDaniel,wanderingaroundadarkanddingyhole.Mosesexplains,“It’seasyforfaggotstofindoneanotherbecausetheyofferthemselvesonstreetcornerslikewhores.”Cuttoaqueenhavingahissyfitinfrontofthebarasanothertriestocalmherdown,allwhileMosesholdsforthonsadfags,howtheydon’tknowhowtousetheirsexualfreedomforhappiness,howtheir“greatestenemyistheconspicuousqueen.”Twofairiesinshortshortsappearintheframe,fawningovertwoembarrassedfags.Moseslaments,“Danielnowhasnootherinterestthanbeingafag.”Cuttoamotorcyclegang,leatherboyscruisingoneanotheramongstthenighttimetrees.Theyfeelupeachother’szippers,chains,andstuds—aclothedgropefestasMosesteachesthat,otherthan“trans-westites,[who]longforwomen’sorgans,leatherfreaksarethefagswiththemosthang-ups.”Infact,“Theleatherqueersarereallynice,politepeoplewhosufferfromtheirownweakness.”Andthat’swhenDaniel,“boredwithtalking,”fatefullyleavesthebarscenefortheparkwherehe“slowlymadehiswaythroughthetensechoreographyofmen.”(SosayethMoses.)Cuttooutsideapublicrestroom(a“well-knownmeetingplace”).Menwhocruiserestrooms“despisetearoomtrade,”thevoiceofMosestrembles.Hustlers—“usuallyrunawaysfrombrokenhomes”whoare“oftennotqueer”—frequentthesespots.(Assortedhustlersandfagsmillaboutasapieceofroughtradestandslikeasentinelinfrontofthedoor.)Agroupofqueersemergeandpilecircus-styleintoacar.AnoldfagcruisesDanielbutstrikesout(duh!)beforegettingbeatupbyroughtrade.Nextup:adragqueensinginginamixedhomobar—atattooedleatherdaddystaringstoicallyfromatablenearby.Andthere’sDaniel!He’s“drowninghimselfinalcoholandcigarettes”whileotherfagstryto“forgetthemselvesinafranticatmosphere”—i.e.,ablackguyandawhiteguydoingachickendanceto“RockAroundTheClock”,whichblaresfromthejukebox.Anoldyodelingqueenappears.DanielseeshisfriendPaul,asksifhecangobacktohiscommunalpad.Andthat’swherevonPraunheim’sfilmfinallyreachesitsclimax—apsychotherapysessionwithagroupofnakedfags!Sittinginacircle,theyberateDanielintheirdubbedvoices.“You’vebecomearealfulltimefaggot!”“You’rebecomingneurotic,awhorewhodoesn’tevengetpaid!”TheTeutonicaccentsstartcallingforagayprideawakening,aconsciousness-raising“We’rehere,we’requeer!”movement.“Queensandbutcheshavetostopopposingandfighttogethersidebyside!”“Comeoutofthecloset!Taketothestreets!”“Eroticallyfree!Sociallyinvolved!”Thecommentarycontinuesevenasthecreditsrolloverapinkbackground—evenasIcan’tstoplaughingoverthe“trans-westites,”leatherfreaks,andglorioustearoomtrade.

6小姐 说：1969年的电影，很多东西放在现在看来也不算过时。 每个人都与众不同，同性恋身份只是其中之一，和“左撇子”“高个子”等等一样。但是以目前的社会现状，同性恋群体为了抱团很容易标签化自己，因为和“志同道合”的人在一起好像才可以敞开心扉，展示真实的自己。这就有了圈子——一个同性恋的乌托邦社会。但当真正走入这个圈子，才发现这个圈子也不是什么世外桃源，和外面的世界一样，有好人也有坏人。 电影里面也提到了同志群体内部的歧视，就像现在对爷t的排挤，以及网络上同志群体的各种矛盾。 真正能争取同性恋权益的，如结尾所说，勇敢出柜，团结起来，争取平权。
海王星黎明 说：Berlinale2020 场景都是各种搬演，台词全是后配的，声画完全不同步，尴尬到全程笑场，但讲的东西十分在理，特别是考虑到这几乎是第一批gay movement文本，很难得。社会对queer的普遍压迫导致性成为唯一的发泄点，因为“所有gay只有一个共同点：喜欢男人”，这导致同性关系始终处于混乱状态，因为在对方身上只能看到和自己同样的苦难。于是queer出柜并建立文化共同体是唯一的出路，结尾大家大声喊出出柜宣言的时候可能是史上最燃的裸体派对……
小亚基 说：非常有特色的非同步音画影像。调查报告式文本朗读部分非常尖锐而有见地，即使既不同意其中的观点，也不同意论证的方式，至少无可辩驳的是信息密度非常让人满意。影像部分就算考虑到50年带来的时代落差（主要是主角蓄了个时代的眼泪sideburn胡型，其他人甚至根本算不上过时）整体绝对不算猎奇，作为科教片（而不是cult片）是非常合适的。高效的信息传递模式配合这个简练的片长让人舒适
